Unitec held its second annual crab and shrimp feast on June 4, 2004 from 5-7:30 pm in our new, sizeable warehouse. 40 Unitec employees and their families enjoyed 7 bushels of crabs, 30 lbs. of shrimp and side dishes provided by the employees. Since Unitec is located in Maryland, Unitec employees just love crabs and shrimp and the event was a huge success!

At this year's ICA Show in Las Vegas, Unitec displayed multiple product lines in our new, custom-built 20’ x 40’ booth, as well as products in multiple manufacturers’ booths. We featured four new products in our booth including the Portal TI entry system, the Wash Select II POS with Speedpass, the Tunnel Lane Controller/Gated System and Mars VIP Wash Coupons. We showed two new features on the Wash Select II – the no cash option and the Mars bill acceptor option. In addition, we displayed our single and dual WashChange bill changer. We had tremendous turnout in our booth and would like to thank everyone who stopped by to visit us and see what’s new with Unitec.

Unitec hosted its annual Bring Your Kid to Work Day on Thursday, April 22, 2004. Thirteen children, between the ages of 5½ and 13 accompanied their parents to work for a day of learning and fun. The day included a tour of each department within our new manufacturing facility, time with their parents to learn about their jobs, and a group project of creating a carwash advertisement. The children joined the entire company for lunch during our quarterly company meeting where the children observed Unitec employees receive ‘years of service’ awards. The children had a great time visiting our new facility and learning how the company operates.
